9. Computer Test - Let's see what needs to get fixed.
Tuesday 3/3 (Day 2) Word of the Day #1: Aperture - The variable opening inside a lens that regulates the amount of light available to the camera. Also known as an iris.
Wednesday 3/4 (Day 3) Word of the Day #2: Aspect Ratio - The proportional width and height of the picture on the screen. The current standard for conventional receiver or monitor is four by three (4:3) for Standard Definition; sixteen by nine (16:9) for High Definition.
Thursday 3/5 (Day 4) Word of the Day #3: Digitize - To convert analog video, audio, or both to digital form. The process of converting a continuous analog video or audio signal to digital data (ones and zeros) for computer storage. The signal can then be copied repeatedly with no degradation.
Friday 3/6 (Day 5) Word of the Day #4: Pre-production - The planning phase of a film or video project, usually completed prior to shooting. Word of the Day #5: Point of View - Movie Shot perspective whereby the camera assumes the subject's view, and thus viewers see what the subject sees as if through his/her eyes.
HW: Rough, Rough Draft of Short Story - Due Monday HW: Study Words of the Day (Batch #1) in whatever way works best for you. Quiz on Wednesday, March 11 (Day 7). If you get at least 4 out of 5 correct on the first quiz (80%), you can continue to study in whatever way works best for you. If you get less than 4 out of 5 on this first quiz (80%), you will also be assigned an activity to help you learn the jargon that we use in the Video Productions world.
